Why I'm Starting On This Blogging Journey
Hi! This blog is about me being obedient to something God has been talking to me about for quite a while (OK longer than I would like to admit!), to share from my journey, my highs and lows in the hope that it may give someone the answers they need in that moment. I'm not professing to have all the answers or to know everything, as the name suggests, I'm just a girl on a journey too.
Too often as women, we live one life to everyone in public and another in private. We hide our deepest hurts, worries, thoughts and emotions behind a facade of 'Im great' or 'Im fine thanks!’
Its only when we start being honest with ourselves about some things that maybe aren’t working for us, or issues we need to overcome once and for all, that we can begin to make some changes that will enable us to live a life full in all that Christ has for us. Sometimes we need to change our circumstances, sometimes we need to change our response to our circumstances.
Christ paid the full price for our freedom, which means we now have full access to that freedom, but its up to us to walk in it and to take hold of all that means. For too long I lived life as a Christian without really taking hold of the fullness of all Christ had for me. I would hide behind my circumstances, my shyness, my children, my insecurities, my fears. Through a series of life changing events I decided that not only was life too short to live this way anymore, but that He had created me for far more than this, to be more than a conqueror, to be an overcomer, to take hold of all that He had so graciously sacrificed for me. Or at the very least to try!
If something I write can help even just one person in one small way then its worth it. Its hard being honest, being open, it makes you feel vulnerable but until we do, we won’t change and if we don’t go through that process and learn from it how can we hold someones hand and then help them through it? Being honest with ourselves opens us up to a deeper level of faith, trust, love and the ability to outwork this practically.
So take from this anything that might help you, discard anything that doesn’t and most of all, its corny but true, allow yourself to enjoy the journey, don’t carry unnecessary baggage, every once in a while, be brave and go through the something to declare door and allow God to have a rummage around on the inside and get rid of anything that you are not supposed to carry with you on the next stage of your journey.
